It’s time to update your wardrobe, old chap. Don’t forget that Winter is an important season stylistically. Men don’t pay enough attention to the small details that can really upgrade (and make) your image.

Hermès Silk Pocket Square (in brown) Remember to keep the colors deep or neutral in winter, as it’s a better reflection of the season

Alexander McQueen/Double Breasted Wool Overcoat. The first photo is a picture of the very stylish Mr Cary Grant wearing a very similar style, taken in 1946, at the height of British fashion and stylistic change (think the Duke of Windsor, Grant and Churchill)

“The young men of today look like they’re on their way to a Halloween party. Why can’t they dress like you?” – Woman, to Cary Grant.

Grey Zegna Scarf (Wool/Cashmere) Simple. Understated elegance. Say no more?

Something British for the mix. These very reasonably priced Church monk-straps. (about 350 pounds, sale price, 175)

What to wear them with? Something very slim since they are (being Monks) a narrow shoe. Slim, Richard James suit, Shirt by RL Black Label, Tie by Richard James, some poka dot socks with bi-color heel and toe (caps) also by Richard James.

Paul Smith leather gloves. Beautiful.

Wear it with the following, this style is currently very popular in London, where the following originates. Burberry shirt, Turnbull Asser 2011 WINTER COLLECTION tie, PS wool pants, Lanvin shoes and Simon Spurr jacket.

HOWEVER, ONE FINAL TIP…Colors DON’T have to be all neutral and dark. This final winter fashion tip for men let you know that you brighten it up a bit. For instance, if you’re wearing a neutral outfit, it’s okay to brighten it up with a more lively scarf. Picking something bright or with a pattern isn’t always a bad thing.
